New tracks coming up from Down Under

Little Indie casts its ears and eyes over more of the latest sounds to emerge recently from Down Under.

DESERT MOONS - ROUGH TRADE

NSW Central Coast-based indie-electronic duo, Desert Moons (brothers Jake and Simon Dobson), have just revealed this self-produced debut single, recorded at their home studio. Combining organic and experimental electronic instrumentation, ‘Rough Trade’ melds themes of dark dream-pop, indie-rock and hip-hop.

CHINESE NEW YEAR - LAND AND SEA

Influenced by King Gizzard, Adelaide indie alt-rock four-piece Chinese New Year's new single is a laid-back easy, jazz-esque melodic stroll.

THE BEAMISH BOYS - FALLING BACKWARDS

After releasing their debut EP 'Sparks' last year, acoustic indie pop brothers from South Queensland, Jeremy (18) and Ben (20) Beamish, show off their vocal harmonies, fingerstyle guitar and catchy original melodies.

KATANKIN - HEY LITTLE SPIDER

June released debut single from Melbourne-based singer/songwriter Helen Catanchin. Formally trained as a jazz singer, here she explores electronic and indie pop arrangements, while maintaining the same emphasis on poetic, heartfelt lyrics accompanied by powerfully expressive vocals.

BILLYMAREE - BLUE

First track uploaded online from 17-year-old Samoan Billymaree Duffy. Raised in Sydney and now Brisbane-based, the young songstress masters rich, soulful vocals in an electronic RnB setting.

THE HARPOONS - DO YOU WANT MY LOVE

New single from the Melbourne quartet, driving a funky rhythm and thumping bassline. RnB pop futurism melds with Bec Rigby's dominant vocal.
